Cynthia Cross came into the world on Monday, May 23, 1955, to her mom, Ruth Cross and her father known as "Jewbaby". On March 5, 2024, Cynthia went to take her eternal rest, reuniting with her siblings, Deborah and Lawrence and leaving behind her dear sisters, Brenda and Shelia. When Cynthia was still an infant, her mom, married John Thomas Teague, who raised Cynthia as his own.
Cynthia's public school educational journey led her to proudly earn her diploma from Spry Grammar School. She attended Farragut High School where she met Herbert "Buddy" Alford. Their journey together brought two amazing girls into the world, Andrea and Chavonne. But Cynthia's love knew no bounds - when their mother passed away, Cynthia raised her nephews, Khalil and Cass.
She worked at a few companies in her career including, Bekins, Osco and Standard Parking. All marked by inpressive longevity. Her time at Sears held a special place in her heart and her work ethic was outstanding. Cnthia's dedication to punctuality was unmatched - and that's an understatement. Seriously, she was never late not once. inmaging being two hours early to work every single day! and it wasn't just her job; she brought that early bird energy to every aspect of life: from work commitments to social events. on top of it all, she even had her own administrative company, flying fingers, proudly boasting her lightening fast typing skills at over 90 words per minute.
Cynthia took great pleasure in spending quality time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing game apps on her phone and she did not care that her favorite song, "Gonna Make You Sweat" annoyed everyone.
Among the treasures of her heart were her three granddaughters, Angelique, Anissa and Chloe and her grandson, Alton Jr. She took pleasure in spoiling them with the things she knew they loved.
Preceding Cynthia in death was her sister, Deborah, her mother, Ruth Teague, her stepfather, John Thomas Teague, and her brother, Lawrence "Junebug" Oliver Jr. Also, gone before her was her ex-husband/companion, Herbert Earl Alford, and her fur baby and beloved companion, Cole.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Andrea (Alton) Jones and Chavonne Alford, along with her grandaughters, Angelique Jones, Anissa Jones, Chloe Cotton, and grandson, Alton Jones Jr. Her sisters, Brenda Teague and Sheila Blount continue to hold her in their hearts. Additionally, she is survived by her nephews, Willie Teague, Lawrence Teague, Johnathan Blount, Khalil Muhammad, Casslon Alford and her niece, LaToya Teague. Cynthia leaves behind a host of great nephews and many more family and friends to honor and remember her.
